Category: Fashionable Accessories

When we think fabrics in summer, we usually think cotton, linen and other such materials. However, this year you will be surprised to hear the latest trend, leather and snakeskin. No, this isn’t wrong information. This summer these materials are extremely trendy. Leather and snakeskin ruled the runways around the world, and people saw what they were offered.

Garments or accessories?

If you’re wondering how leather was used in menswear, then you must know that they weren’t just used in accessories like belts, shoes, etc. it was used to create stylish garments like vests, t-shirts, trousers, shorts, et al. Leather was used in a variety of colours, not just the typical brown and black. Colours like white, gunmetal grey, silvery dark grey, etc. were seen a lot. Even blue and tan trousers were noticed in various styles like wide-legged, slim-fitted and relaxed cuts were introduced on the ramp.

Suits in leather with matching jackets were seen in terracotta and seemed rather striking. Trussardi also did quite a bit with snakeskin, the most impressive being the experimental short suit made from orange snakeskin. Some subdued pieces were also showcased like grey and brown snakeskin trousers paired with a leather jacket in tan and sandals with a wonderful snakeskin effect. A python-skin pattern was incorporated in a pair of trousers and was also used on a shirt which was coupled with ankle length brown boots and beige shorts.

Apart from Trussardi

Versace has also included leather in his collection emphasising on biker jackets. These biker jackets, slim-cut, were introduced in gold, black and bronze outlined leather. The traditional black ones with the bullet-hole detailing were also featured. The designer also showcased single and double breasted leather suits in colours like dark grey and khaki. Snakeskin was also used by the designer in two-piece suits, and cropped biker jackets in colours like dark burgundy. These biker jackets were coupled with trousers not made of leather, maintaining some balance.
